GUH

'Guh' is a well-known sound amongst reddit's wallstreetbets users. It is used as an expression of exclamation and it is always paired with a significant loss.

The original 'Guh' was captured on video when user u/ControlTheNarrative who discovered a Robinhood glitch and soon afterwards lost nearly $50.000 on an Apple (AAPL) on earnings play made with 25x leverage. It has since spread into several other online investment communities.

Guh Origin

The "Guh" sound is now jokingly known amongst subredditors as a "bankruptcy speed run" given it took place roughly 2 minutes into market open. Some users also refer to it as the sound which is made when someone's soul is leaving their body.

Since then, r/wallstreetbets users have even created a yearly "Guh wall of fame", featuring each year's biggest losses.

As for user u/ControlTheNarrative, despite currently having his reddit account suspended, will go down in history not only has the creator of the original "Guh" sound but also has one of the discoverers of what became known as the "Robinhood infinite money glitch" or "infinite money cheat code": a loophole in the famous online trading app which gave its users near infinite leverage by basically allowing them to trade with excess borrowed funds.

ControlTheNarrative posted a guide on how to exploit this glitch and ascended to legendary status amongst redditors even though him and all 20 other users who followed his instructions - some of which even bragged about going from $4000 to $1000000 were promised to be met with a suspension on Robinhood.
